Da Lat, a popular tourist city in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, is brightening up as the vibrant cherry-like apricot blossoms bloom just in time to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet).

This year’s Lunar New Year falls on January 22, with preparations and celebration taking place a week before and after the day.

Many were previously worried that the flowers would not bloom in time for the holiday due to the two-week-long rainy weather that burdened the city earlier this month.

If the local weather remains cold with no rain, the blossoms are expected to live until late January.

Several hotspots to check out the apricot blossoms include Tran Hung Dao Street, Xuan Huong Lake, Cau Dat tea hill, Lang Biang peach forest, and Tuyen Lam Lake.

Some people claimed the flowers are not as bright and beautiful as in previous years because the rains have caused less appealing leaves to grow alongside the blossoms.
