Ripening persimmon gardens attract tourists to Da Lat in winter

Wild sunflowers starting to blossom signals the end of fall and the beginning of winter in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat, and that is when gardens of yellow ripe persimmons cover the city. 

In the winter, persimmon trees laden with ripening fruits can be seen everywhere in Da Lat, from the city center to suburbs, such as Cau Dat and Tram Hanh. 

Persimmon trees have been grown in Da Lat for a long time and its fruit is a delicacy there. 

Also, visiting persimmon orchards is a activity favored by tourists.

In recent days, Le Van garden on Mimosa Hill has been regularly visited by groups of tourists who flock to see the trees laden with yellow ripening persimmons.

According to the owner, the garden cultivates persimmons until they ripen and turn yellow, before using the fruits for producing wind-dried persimmons.

The route from the center of Da Lat to Cau Dat area is also loaded with many venues where tourists can admire persimmon gardens at their most beautiful time of the year, while seeing the process of making wind-dried persimmons.

Statistics from the People's Committee of Da Lat showed in the first nine months of this year, the city welcomed more than five million visitors, an increase of 18.53 percent over the same period last year. 

In the last months of the year, the city will continue to advocate and encourage business establishments to improve service quality and promote garden and farm tourism to attract more tourists.
