A tourist area of Sa Dec Flower Village in Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam has been offering 3,000 free banh tet (cylindrical glutinous rice cakes) to visitors for the last two weeks.

Duyen Nhut Flower Paradise Tourist Area only began welcoming tourists a month ago and is hoping to incentivize guests with banh tet and daily free admission after 5:30 pm.

Pham Van Nhut, owner of the tourist area in Tan Khanh Dong Commune of Sa Dec City, said that 200 cakes are wrapped on average daily.

“With an entry ticket priced at VND50,000 [US$2], tourists can take photos with the area’s gardens of roses, sunflowers, and other flowers, while savoring a banh tet,” he said.
