Vietnam’s tò he-inspired design wins best traditional costume at Fitness Supermodel World 2024

A design inspired by the Vietnamese tò he (toy figurines) claimed the best traditional costume prize at the Miss & Mister Fitness Supermodel World 2024, held at the Ho May tourist area in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam from May 10 to 20.

In the national costume competition of the supermodel pageant on Sunday, 34 contestants from various countries and territories showcased their unique cultural expressions. 

Each participant brought forth creative ensembles reflecting their heritage.

Representing Vietnam were Tuyet Mai and Thai Bui, runners-up of the Miss & Mister Fitness Supermodel Vietnam 2023 contest, respectively. 

Tuyet Mai adorned herself in tò he attire crafted by designer Khac Hoang. 

Besides being a toy, tò he embodies cultural significance as a symbol of luck, prosperity, and happiness.

Meanwhile, Thai Bui donned a regal outfit representing resilience and valor by designer Tuan Hai, paying homage to Hung Kings, the title given to the ancient Vietnamese rulers of the Hong Bang period (2879-258 BC). 

Their performances earned Vietnam the top spots for the most beautiful national costumes.

The tò he design ultimately won the best traditional costume prize for the Miss Fitness Supermodel World 2024 category.

In the Mister Fitness Supermodel World 2024 category, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines received recognition for their striking ensembles, with Sri Lanka claiming the title. 

The final round of the pageant is scheduled for May 18 in Vung Tau City of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
