Thach Ngoc Phuc Yen developed his interest in embroidery during the COVID-19 social distancing time, but he never expected his hobby to transform into a full-time business.
Over time, Yen fell more and more in love with embroidery, eventually deciding to quit his job as an English teacher in Ho Chi Minh City and devote himself full-time to the craft.
The 26-year-old said he taught himself embroidery using the Internet.

Yen spends 30-60 hours on each piece of embroidery and sells his creations for VND500,000 (US$20) and above each through his Facebook page Phúc Yên Thêu Tay.
He particularly enjoys creating depictions of landscapes and sunsets.
According to Yen, each of his pieces is completely unique and unlike any other.
He also embroiders clothes and accessories.

“It was difficult in the beginning because I chose to embroider pieces that were too large and it consumed a lot of time, which made me want to give up,” Yen said.
“Over time, I learned to be persistent, meticulous, and set clear goals to get results.”
