For beach lovers who are looking to go off the beaten path, Son Dung Beach with its pristine beauty, crystal clear turquoise water, and powder white sand should be added to their bucket list.

Son Dung Beach, also known as Xuan Dung Beach, is part of Dam Mon Peninsula in Van Phong Bay, Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam.

This unspoiled beach is around 100 kilometers away from Nha Trang City, a popular beach destination in the south-central province.

Nestled deep in the Van Phong Bay, the quiet and peaceful Son Dung beach is surrounded with roughly 20 islands of different sizes that look like a natural wave-proofing wall for the beach.

Son Dung is also considered a quite safe beach where beach-goers can fully enjoy sea-bathing, scuba diving, and many other activities.

Its striking turquoise water, white sand, and colorful coral reefs will leave travelers with unforgettable memories of Son Dung.

After her first visit to Son Dung, Hoang Thuy Duong, a travel blogger, shared: “I arrived at the beach at sunset. It had just rained, making the scenery magnificent. I felt a bit lost amid the vast land, but the beach was so attractive.”

To reach Son Dung from Nha Trang City, travelers can go to Dam Mon seaport to take a boat trip to Van Phong Bay and continue with a raft trip to Son Dung. A beautiful sunny day is perfect to travel to Son Dung for sea activities.

Though the route to Son Dung is a bit inconvenient, travelers can admire various landscape types from terraced rice fields to soft white sand islets and amazingly clear skies on the way.

The travel blogger shared her unforgettable memories of Son Dung: “I strolled along the beach early in the morning, seeing a school of fish swimming in the crystal-clear water. The days at Son Dung were the most peaceful time in my life when I was wearing scuba gear and swimming along with many fish in the sea.”

The Van Phong Bay is renowned for coral reefs of different sizes and colors. Travelers can watch small coral reefs by just putting their foot in the sea.

When they go scuba diving at a far distance, the deeper they dive, the more colorful coral reefs they will discover.

Seeing sea creatures living deep in the ocean in person is an amazing experience for scuba divers in the Van Phong Bay.

“Seeing that magical world makes me more aware of my responsibility in contributing to the conservation of local marine life,” Duong said.
