Some 700 meters away from April 30 Park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the iconic Ho Con Rua (Turtle Lake) in District 3 is surrounded by green trees and brings a slight relief from high temperatures.

Ho Con Rua is the informal name given to the artificial lake which lies in the center of a traffic circle connecting Vo Van Tan, Pham Ngoc Thach, and Tran Cao Van Streets.

It is a popular hangout spot for local residents, especially young people.

The lake is one of the city's shadowed parks which help local residents find a brief respite from the sweltering heat in the southern metropolis on scorching days.
