Bich Dam Island, one of the most remote island villages in Nha Trang Bay, is drawing visitors with its untouched beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
Now the focus of a newly approved community tourism development project, the Vietnamese island offers a glimpse into a simpler, more serene way of life.
Located about 15 kilometers from downtown Nha Trang City in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, Bich Dam spans 250.91 hectares and is home to 228 households with 867 residents.
Most locals make a living through aquaculture and freelance work.
Despite its small population, the island retains an unspoiled charm, with its name inspired by the clear, jade-colored waters that surround it year-round.

Fresh seafood is a highlight, with local specialties such as vermicelli with fish cakes and banh canh (Vietnamese rice flour noodle soup) offering a taste of the region’s culinary traditions.

Nguyen Thanh Tra, a traveler from Hanoi, described Bich Dam as the most peaceful part of her trip to Nha Trang.
“Even though I only stayed for one night, I found the locals very friendly and welcoming,” she said.
“The island may not have many tourist services yet, but I think it will become a popular destination for those looking to escape the city and reconnect with nature.”
