Eight international cruise ships will arrive in Nha Trang City of Khanh Hoa Province, south central Vietnam starting late this month until early June, with two expected to visit the city in February, a representative of Viet Excursions Co. Ltd. said on Tuesday afternoon.
In particular, the Bahamas’ vessel Nautica with 550 passengers on board will dock in Nha Trang this Friday.
Tourists will visit popular destinations in the city, such as the Christ the King Cathedral, the Thap Ba Po Nagar Tower, and Long Son Pagoda.
Two days later, Cyprus’ vessel Spectrum of the Seas will carry 4,000 visitors from Singapore to Nha Trang before leaving for Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam.
In addition, the Vietnamese coastal city will receive vessels Ms Seven Sea Explore, SILVER MUSE, Silver Whisper, and Borealis, with 750, 500, 500, and 1,400 passengers on board, respectively, in March.
According to travel companies in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam is located in the center of Southeast Asia and is close to many international shipping routes, so it is an ideal destination for vessels heading from China to Southeast Asian countries and vice versa.
In addition, Vietnam has many splendid bays, islands, and beaches, thus holding high potential for tourism development, and many deep-water ports, which help receive large cruise ships.
The Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has approved a strategic project to boost the province’s tourism development in 2023-25 with a vision to 2030 to develop the province into a leading tourism destination in Southeast Asia.
The project requires an estimated investment of nearly VND184.3 billion (US$7.8 million).
Under the project, some world-class cultural and artistic events will be organized, while the market research and promotion of Khanh Hoa tourism in other localities and on international media agencies, such as CNN and Reuters, should be enhanced.
