Tourism authorities are mulling over connecting tourism products and attractions in Ho Chi Minh City with those in neighboring Dong Nai Province.

A delegation of representatives from 40 travel agencies and tourism organizations last weekend took a familiarization (FAM) trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Bien Hoa City in Dong Nai by train.

After arriving in Bien Hoa, the delegation visited local tourist attractions such as Tran Bien Temple of Literature, Vuon Xoai Ecotourism Site, Son Tien tourist area, Buu Long tourist area, Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts where visitors learned to make pottery with local artisans, Thien Tam tourist area where visitors experienced mud and mineral bath services, Nha Vien and K’Tan restaurants, and more.

Tour operator Le Thi Thu Huong from the Golden Holiday travel company expressed her excitement at joining a railway tour from Ho Chi Minh City to Bien Hoa for the first time.

Although the journey was short, tourists can see landscapes and experience the life of locals in the two localities, she added.

The survey tour showed Bien Hoa City has the potential to attract a variety of visitors who are keen on Vietnamese culture, history, and people.

In addition, Vuon Xoai Ecotourism Site also offers visitors opportunities to see a diversity of rare and precious animals from around the world.

After the FAM trip, Golden Holiday expects to conduct two-to-three pilot tours featuring inter-provincial destinations between Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa City to attract not only domestic but also international tourists.

The goal of this initiative is to develop inter-provincial tour products for the tourism industry.

Nguyen Huu An, deputy head of the tourism resource planning and development under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said the tour focused on tourists’ traveling by train between the two localities.

Since August, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province have hosted three tours to Dong Nai for both domestic and foreign tourists.
