The lush green and golden yellow landscapes have harmoniously curved along the mountain slopes within Sa Pa, a resort town in Lao Cai Province, northern Vietnam, for a while, indicating the arrival of a fruitful and abundant rice harvest.

In August and September each year, the terraced fields in the villages of Sa Pa Town, Lao Cai Province undergo a gradual transformation from green to a splendid golden hue, presenting breathtaking scenery.

Notably, this year, the terraced fields in Nam Cang Village of the namesake commune have ripened early compared to others.

A peaceful retreat

Situated approximately 35 kilometers away from the heart of the popular Sa Pa Town, Nam Cang draws tourists with its tranquil and picturesque landscape adorned with terraced fields embracing local homes.

In the vicinity of Sa Pa Town, a single rice crop is cultivated annually and its harvest is due in August and September.

The sight of numerous terraced fields, graced with alternating green and yellow patches that stretch toward the horizon, will leave visitors in awe.

The vast expanse and serene landscape seem to dissolve all worries and troubles, offering a peaceful retreat.

To reach Nam Cang, visitors have the option to rent a motorbike in Sa Pa and enjoy a leisurely ride through the villages, eventually arriving at the Red Dao ethnic people’s village nestled within the Hoang Lien Son range.

The cost of renting a motorbike typically falls between VND100,000 (US$4.21) and VND170,000 ($7.16) per day.

“Even though I have visited Sa Pa multiple times, my affection for this place remains as strong as my first visit,” Duong said.

“The weather here is truly remarkable.

“If you plan to explore Nam Cang during this period, it’s best to don lightweight, white, pink, or brocade clothing to have stunning photographs."
