Yen Island, also known as Hon Noi, situated in Nha Trang Bay, Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, enchants visitors with its clear blue waters, providing them with an opportunity to explore its rich cultural heritage.
Located 13 nautical miles from Nha Trang City, Yen Island is renowned for being the origin of the bird’s nest industry in the south-central coastal province and is home to the largest bird’s nest reserves in Vietnam.
Each year, on the 10th day of the fifth lunar month, the island hosts a commemorative event for the anniversary of the bird’s nest industry.
Besides the island’s striking natural beauty, which features vivid turquoise beaches and vibrant coral reefs beneath the pristine waters, visitors can witness the bird’s nest industry up close by exploring the caves where swiftlets make their homes.

Due to their habit of foraging for food during the day and returning at night, swiftlets are rarely visible to visitors.
However, the island is frequented daily by flocks of seagulls, which provides an enjoyable spectacle for tourists.
It is also home to Ha Du Peak, which rises 90 meters high.
Climbing to this summit offers visitors breathtaking views of the sea and sky.

To reach Yen Island, travelers can take a wooden or speedboat from the local fishing port in Nha Trang, with ticket prices ranging from VND490,000 (US$19) to VND790,000 (US$31) per person.
The ideal time to visit is from April to the end of August, when the weather is dry and cool, perfect for sightseeing and swimming.
