Triem Duc hot spring in Vietnam’s Phu Yen worth a visit
Triem Duc hot spring starts from a large rock on the bank of the Ky Lo River.

Triem Duc hot spring in Dong Xuan District, Phu Yen Province, central Vietnam features stunning landscapes and 70 degree Celsius waters for visitors to enjoy.

It takes just 10 minutes to hard boil quail eggs and 15 minutes to hard boil chicken eggs in Triem Duc hot spring, just 50 kilometers from Tuy Hoa City in Phu Yen Province and six kilometers from foggy La Hai Town in Dong Xuan District.

Several national highways and provincial roads run toward the hot spring, all of which wind through green forests full of song birds near the banks of the Ky Lo River.

Once at the river, the hot springs starts at a large rock on the river’s edge where three limpid streams of hot water flow around the clock.

Local residents call Triem Duc Village, where the hot spring is located, the “hot water village,” according to Le Hong Hanh, an official from the culture, sports, and broadcast center in Dong Xuan District.

The water in the stream is over 70 degrees Celsius and is used for cooking eggs and drinking in order to gain health benefits from the minerals, which are said to help ease stomach pain.

There is also a warm stream where temperatures typically hit 40-50 degrees Celsius. Locals prefer this stream for bathing in the winter.  

The Triem Duc hot spring is an ideal destination for young travel lovers looking for a cool camping spot or space for team-building activities or just to play in the water and fish.

Many households along the way to the hot spring offer specialties of meals of local delicacies, as well as hammocks for visitors to rest.

Ba dau, cake made from green beans, soybeans, and peanuts, is one of the more popular must-try local specialties.

Dong Xuan District has a plan to take advantage of the hot spring area for tourism development, according to Dang Van Trong, chairman of the district People’s Committee.

“The People’s Committee of Phu Yen Province has given the green light to the plan for development until 2023,” he said.
