More than 1,000 students, including some 50 South Koreans, took part in the K-Culture Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday, during which they experienced donning Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), played traditional folk games, and savored food specialties.
The cultural event was co-hosted by the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT) and the King Sejong Institute HMC3, both located at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), in coordination with other units at a HUTECH campus.

HUTECH students and their peers from other universities in the city participated in many contests at the event such as the Korean Speaking Contest, the K-Pop Cover Dance Contest, and a tug of war.
Festival-goers also experienced Korean dishes, Korean cultural traditions, as well as hair-styling services at no charge with South Korean students, said Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen, deputy head of HUTECH.

Le Thi Linh, who is majoring in Korean Studies at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, shares: “I really love South Korea. I decided to wear Hanbok to join the festival.”
Linh added she hoped to receive recommendations in terms of culture, language, and communication skills from Korean students at the festival in order to help her improve study skills.
