Wanderlust couple tours Vietnam for breathtaking pre-wedding album

The travel-loving fiancées celebrated their union with a trans-Vietnam tour. They also wowed netizens with pre-wedding photos taken in the magnificent scenery along the way.

Vu Thi Quynh Hoa, 29, a staffer at a kindergarten in Hanoi, and Nguyen Minh Hoang Anh, 27, a real estate investor, embarked on a 15-day itinerary through 11 cities of Vietnam for their pre-wedding photo shoot.

As revealed by the couple, Hoa used to restrict her travel choices to foreign destinations only.

However, the global COVID-19 pandemic this year put an abrupt halt to any plans the couple had to vacation outside of Vietnam.

“I realized Vietnam is actually the safest place to be during the pandemic," Hoa said.

"This is a dream opportunity for us to discover Vietnam while taking pre-wedding photos.”

Scrapping the initial indoor photo shoot plan, Hoa immediately agreed to the travel plan put forward by Anh.

They traversed the length of Vietnam, from the northern destinations of Ha Giang, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, to the central Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ninh Thuan, Da Lat, and finished with the southern tour through Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, and An Giang.

They also enlisted the help of a professional camera crew, who tagged along through the whole journey to capture the most momentous shots of the couple.

“I had to wake up at 3:00 am every morning during those 15 days to get make-up done," Hoa recalled.

"Erratic weather and intense heat caused many members of the camera crew to fall ill.

"Heavy baggage with gear and costumes was also a pain to deal with.

"We did not dare to book flights in advance, lest we fail to complete photo shoots as planned.”

For Anh, Da Lat and Ha Giang stood out as the most memorable destinations during their 15-day trip.

The northern mountainous province of Ha Giang retains touches of primordial beauty, providing travelers with thrills during trips along winding routes over rugged mountain peaks and through steep canyons.

Meanwhile, Da Lat managed to immerse the tourists in its dreamlike landscape.

”I was surprised to find out that Da Lat is that breathtaking, parallel to any grandeur of the world that I’ve been to,” Anh professed.

The couple poured their savings after years of work into the tour, as they wished to put together a meaningful gift for each other in celebration of their union.

“We’re still young, so we still have time to work and travel," Anh said.

"On top of that, if our photo album gains traction and receives media coverage, it would be able to help popularize Vietnamese destinations and attractions to Vietnamese and foreign visitors.

"That alone would make our savings and efforts [invested in the project] worth it.”

Anh and Hoa first came in touch through social media, but it took a long time for them to make a move.

“Last year, I saw Hoang Anh talk about his plan to conquer Mount Everest within two years on Facebook, but he barely practiced or climbed at the time," Hoa reminisced.

"I thought he was a braggart and messaged him to ask about his preparation.

"Later, he traveled to Hanoi and met me for the first time.

"Subsequently, we started seeing each other and traveled to many countries together."

Hoa sees her husband not only as a lifelong partner but also a friend and trusty associate, who shares the same leisure pursuit, world view, and personal thoughts.

Anh remembers their first meeting: “When I met her, I knew I found the right person.”
