The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in partnership with the USDA Cooperators, organized the ‘Saigon Burger Showcase’ on Friday to promote American food culture and the high-quality of U.S. agricultural products.
The event featured three local chefs demonstrating creative ways to reinvent the traditional burger, a classic American staple, using a wide range of nutrious and healthy ingredients, including beef, pork, poultry, potatoes, cheese, and many other fusion U.S. products.
The showcase was attended by U.S. Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Marie C. Damour, food and beverage influencers, industry leaders, and media representatives.

During the opening remarks, Consul General Marie C. Damour stated that as the food and beverage sector in Vietnam is growing everyday, U.S. ingredients can continue to be an important component to the success of the country's food and beverage reputation.
"Over the years, we've seen many, many variations on the burger feature in restaurants and family kitchens.
"With great ingredients like those that are going to be showcased here today, there is absolutely no limit to what delicious burger recipes you can create.

"In the United States, just like in Vietnam, food brings people together, and it gives us the chance to share our different cultures.
"Over the past 27 years, our country's bilateral relationship has grown stronger, and agriculture has been a critical part of that relationship.
"Today's event is another great example of how we work together to support that bilateral relationship in a strong, prosperous and independent Vietnam," Damour said.

The event is a good example of how FAS and USDA Cooperators promote high-quality U.S. food products to Vietnamese food and beverage industry leaders and consumers.

As Vietnamese consumers have an increasing demand for safe and quality food, the FAS has introduced the digital campain ‘United Tastes’ to connect and inspire Vietnamese consumers with the wide range of safe and healthy products from the U.S.
