Hanoi will host an event celebrating Vietnamese and international cuisine at the end of September.

The 2023 Hanoi Culinary Space, hosted by Hanoi People’s Committee, will be themed “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Cuisine” and take place from September 29 to October 1 at the Hanoi Children's Palace in Hoan Kiem District.

The event aims to promote local culinary values as unique tourism products for the capital city, as well as serve as a celebration for the capital city’s 69th annual Liberation Day holiday (October 10).

The 2023 Hanoi Culinary Space hopes to create an opportunity for the culinary-related businesses, artisans, and villages in Hanoi and from across Vietnam to promote and introduce products to both locals and domestic and foreign tourists.

The event is also expected to serve as a space for local residents and visitors to enjoy Vietnamese culinary culture.

The 2023 Hanoi Culinary Space will feature a wide range of activities, including the Hanoi traditional food space where delicacies from districts and craft villages in Hanoi will be showcased.

At the event, guests will also be able to sample traditional Hanoian dishes such as bún thang (Vietnamese chicken noodle soup), chả cá Lã Vọng (La Vong grilled fish), bún ốc nguội (rice noodles topped with snails and served with cold broth), and more.

But the highlight of the event is sure to be phở - a Hanoi staple.

Visitors will also have the chances to watch experts make bún, miến, and phở noodles from scratch.

Also at the event, a space will be dedicated to craft villages and folk games, as well as booths showcasing Vietnam's regional foods from north to south, and a space for international cuisine and contemporary foods.

The event will also celebrate Michelin-honored establishments in Hanoi such as one-star Tầm Vị and Gia, as well as Bib Gourmand-recognized Phở bò Ấu Triệu, Phở gà Nguyệt, Chả cá Thăng Long, and Tuyết bún chả 34.

Other activities to be held within the framework of the three-day event include a phở seminar, a mooncake workshop, and fusion food performances.
